To master the 8 languages I want to / focusing on two of them now

To have a happy family
To leave fresno

AsianAtHeart 06-19-2009 09:44 PM

To find my true love, move to a foreign county and permanently live there (maybe not Japan, but it's on my list), travel the world, and meet my language goal of 20 languages, I'm working on three-to-five at a time XP

SaintKat 06-19-2009 11:17 PM

To stay happy, healthy and do things I enjoy.
:D

I have noticed most people who use this site seem to be quite young where I am older and a bit seasoned. Life goals are tick mark on a journey in life. When I was young my goals were within five years with one large goal to return to Wakoku and retire. I have met my five-year goals and now I preparing for my final goal in life. It has taken a lifetime of work to make amy goals happen. With each accomplishment comes enjoyment.

All my life I wanted to write a book, so I did and it took me five years to write the first one and another year plus to publish. I am still cherishing my goal of writing and have finished my second book. Setting obtainable goals is important if a goal is not obtainable it is a failure from the start.

We set goals to reach, do not set goals you cannot reach. Keep in mind goals and dreams are two different things.

Writing a book has been a dream of mine too. Been writing and messing around with ideas for over ten years now, but who knows if I'll ever get to the "publishing" faze.

That aside, how old are ya by chance, if it's okay to ask. I'm going on 28 myself.

Life is meant to learn certain lessons. If you don't learn them, you come back again until you do.

forum2post 06-24-2009 05:45 AM

i do job and i am independent man. I love my mother, wife and brother. I have no child because i got married last month.:vsign: my aim is to get lot of money and want to give pleasure to all my family members and all neighbors.

honoraryjapanesegirl 06-24-2009 06:09 AM

Well, I want to become a mangaka, and completely master my voice. But I don't think that's my top priority, I think my top one would be to be the most Godly person I can be, and treat everyone as equally as I can, to work on my inner self so that I can serve others better...
^^ I know, but it is my true wish...

I've learned that you only regret what you don't do. Even if things don't work out like you thought, you still don't have regrets. Go for it!

Yeah!! I'll aim high for my dreams even though they might be hard goals.

HarunoRinji 06-26-2009 10:37 PM

Dreams

Moving to Japan (Tokyo or Kyoto), learning to speak and write japanese perfectly......and.....if possible.....being able to fall in love again....

Flesh 06-27-2009 04:40 PM

My most important goal would probably be becoming an artist and finding a job which i would actually enjoy.Being at least semi-famous and proving that my life wasnt wasted.

Ive always had this 'drive' when it came to art since its the thing im probably the best at.No matter how good i am,i always feel that i can do better, which usually makes me think that most of my art is crap...but it always encourages me to try harder.
So i guess having my own manga would be nice.Im kind of already...developing a plot and making the characters, but it will probably take me a year or two(hopefully) before i'll be actually good enough to draw one since its not really as easy as it seems at first.

Oh snap.I think it will be better if i inch away from the keyboard now.Ive already written my most important goal.Others are just something like a hobby you would like to try,but never get the time or the chance to.Nothing serious xD
Just a few languages i'd like to learn, places to visit and fancy foods to eat

Aislin 06-27-2009 08:32 PM

how is it to hear that there is another person in a universe who feels just like you feel?;-)...
so ...if you will find a way to accomplish your 10 goals...just reply:-)))...hehe
hope from Japan already;-)

my goals in life..at first I was almost going to quit.

I graduated highschool pretty quick(my junior year) and came to DeVry University at the tender age of 17 with my peers in class were 20+ and averaging around 35 years old.

two years in - I started not caring and my grades are dangerously low because of it; the school pretty much told me to take a break and then come back when i'm focused.

During that break I've been looking at things i wanted to do in life, what is my purpose...i graduated from high school, worked and came to school and even got my car; which was way more than anybody have accomplished in the whole family.

I only have a year and half - give or take sooner or a bit later; depends on me.

For some reason; after seeing just a chunk of the world here
and how people interact in the world...i just don't see myself fitting into the "dronelife."

I need something better; I can't just be happy with a simple job 9-5, same old crowd, same old parties and whatnot, and drama and never really coming out of that circle. I was never really a part of that circle and nor do I really want to be; because that isn't me. I'm striving for something better in life.

At first I wanted to graduate and move to Seattle or San Diego, but i realized i've been just saying it but have no passion to really go there; and what for? just for the weather? that's ignorant on my part.

I've thought about even moving to thailand/laos, to live and work in the "motherland" so to speak...but again; I find no real passion for that and if i do go i know i wouldn't really be happy because on top of that the whole thing is just corrupt over there right now.

Now the sleeper.

Japan. I know it may sound lame, but everything about japan I just can't quite explain it but inside i feel like complete happiness like a fuel from the everyday stress/depression i have in my life, just the thought of japan brings a smile to my face and a motivation for me to go back and finish school with a real motivation/passion now.

so you can say I got lost along the way for about 3-4 months and now i've really found what I want to do/accomplish in life.

1.Graduate from DeVry University with a degree in CIS with major in Enterprise Computing

*why?* because I can dream and be happy all I want but that isn't going to get me to japan without having a degree.

2. Get experience working after I graduate and hope to get a decent starting salary for a year or so

*why?* Chances are, even with a degree - i'm not going to have much of a good chance to be hired abroad without some experience, or with good pay (8million yen+).

3.while i'm working gaining experience, i need to take a couple classes to learn japanese fluently and pass the JLPT's.

*why?* Can't really go to japan expecting to live good and whatnot without even knowing how to speak and write the language right? on top of that; it'll also help me get a better chance at getting a good job.

4. Find a way to get to japan, either by current employer's help or by myself and get settled down over there.

*why?* gotta get to japan somehow. lol

5. Get a job, by the time I've made it to japan i'd hope to the best of me that i'd be somewhat fluent enough in japanese carry on a decent conversation for business.

*why?* how else would I survive out there? I need a job! to secure my life over there!

6. Just follow my heart in japan, whenever I get free time off on the weekends and whatnot, go explore, go eat, visit all the places everyone dreams about going to like akihabara.

*why?* you don't really need to ask why!?

7. If i'm doing well enough over there, i'd love to get a car over there - preferably the Nissan R33 Skyline or newer :mtongue:

*why?* If life is going good over there, I think i'd have enough money to have a car in my life now don't ya think? And now, it's time to mature up a level.

8. Hopefully i'll find a girl that is about perfect for me to live to share my life and start a family with and maybe if i'm doing real good - buy a house/land of my own there.

*why?* I have to experience this. Only live once and I definitely need to have achieve this before I pass away

9. Bring my parents and little sister over and show them around and let them know i'm doing good over here.

*why?* wouldn't be here without them, least I can do is show them something they've never seen before and take em' out to eat and enjoy life from the everyday usual boring stuff

10. The future is unwritten. Whatever happens, if I achieve my goals or not; whatever I do in life or whatever comes my way - I must enjoy my life the best I can and I need to be able to do all of this for the most part by myself because no one else can live and breathe this life for me besides...me.

*why?* well like i'm going to let a robot breathe for me and run around shopping in akihabara now am i? :mtongue:

Lol!

I agree with you there!! Doing something that makes you happy is something I would gladly strive for and not think twice about it.

there's no one in this whole wide world who means more to me than
my friends!
all I want is for them to be happy, for them to do what they want,
& for them to always be there.
So my goal & what means the most to me is to have them by my side!^^
yay for friends who've become family! lol

I know what you mean. I had just recently graduated from high school and I'm afraid of what it means for me and my friends. They too mean everything to me and now we're going off to different colleges to pursue our goals and dreams. I'm sad for the simple fact that we'll all be going our separate ways, but i'm sure that we'll see each other again.

:) Thank you so much for your comment. That made me feel a little bit better inside. You're right. Sure me and my friends might drift apart, but that doesn't mean that I'll be alone in college. I'll make new friends. I just hope that some of my friends from HS stick close to me. That's all I ask out of life for now. :)

If that is your goal, I find it very sad. I find Santa Claus much better. He does not ask kids to believe in him, nor worship him. He only asks them to be good kids, and he will give a gift.

God's request is illogical, let us be good in life... so he can judge then... but I'm not going to f*cking waste my life worshiping him and praying every day. And that is not bad, I'm still a good guy.

My goal is to have a decent economy, a great wife and kids and live my life at the most normal level. Not too much and not too less.
