Intentions and whatnot: I'm currently a student going into animation and media arts. I've always liked reading about the Japanese culture and learning bits of the language here and there. I took one Japanese class, but transferred to a college where it isn't available so now I'm just teaching it to myself when I have the time.
why do you want to go to japan: Well, my father was born in Japan on a military base so that was my first motivation to go. Just to see the land where he was born. And my father has been to Japan many times, so I'd like to go see where he has previously visited. My boyfriend's family is from Hong Kong, so I'd also love to go visit both Japan and Hong Kong since my boyfriend has never been to Japan. And, I'd just love a chance to test my skills at Japanese :p

Intentions and whatnot: I discovered this website while searching for various ways on how to learn a bit of Japanese. My main intention is to master a basic amount of Japanese in order to travel there for a while. My main occupation is going to school. I'm following webdesign and math courses atm since I need those to graduate. Planning on going to College after that.
Why do you want to go to Japan: I mainly want to see if the things I expect from Japan are true (culturewise).
My interest in Japan got fueled by chiptune music, anime, Nico Nico Douga and a lot of stuff that isn't worth mentioning right now.

Sorry if my English isn't perfect but yeah... it aint my mother tongue.

intentions and whatnot: Um...I like meeting new people, going to new places, and eating new foods. Online isn't very personal, but I see it as a tool to develop the base introductions, and then move onto long-lasting relationships. I plan on going to Japan, so I'm looking for all the Japanese friends I can get while I'm staying there. Other than that, something to do on my free time!
why do you want to go to japan: Because I love travel, and Japan has a very interesting history and cultural background. I don't much like pop culture, or the 'new generation,' whom have become (in general) more American-ized, forgetting their roots. I much prefer the oldschool perfect blend of great technology, and a respect for nature and humility. Not that being American is bad, but I celebrate variety and differences between cultures, when one is being influenced too much by another, it always ends in cultural suicide. So, I just want to catch a glimpse of oldschool Japan before it fades into the background.

Intentions and whatnot: My motive in joining this site's community is to study Japanese, learn about Japan, and find friends. I'd really like to help a Japanese friend with English in return for help with Japanese.

Why I want to go to Japan: Mostly because I'm such an anime fan. I probably wouldn't have developed such an interest in Japanese culture if it weren't for falling in love with manga and anime. I would like to spend time in Osaka in particular. I'd love to visit Akihabara and Nihonbashi, and go to a Jrock concert, a Japanese anime convention and cosplay cafe.

My name is Priscilla and I come from a French family. I was born and grew up in Australia. Earlier this year I moved to England to be with my English boyfriend and have been here since.

I'm hoping to stay here until I get married, do a degree in education/Japanese and then am planning to spend a year in Japan with my boyfriend to see how we cope.

I've studied Japanese for six years. Only school kind of things and then self study. Actually being in Japan would help a lot. I've only been once before.
