But the pimp hand thing was just a metaphor for using the power of the Modness.

Oh.. sorry.. But I'm not gonna just delete them.
I asked the head admin to please provide both Claire and I with full moderation abilities for the entire forum... as it'd be more helpful to the others. Until he gives that - I cannot move it.

I think Clairebare is doing a fantastic job, and would vote for Nagoyankee hands down as a new recruit:)

Women over 40 aren't applicable.

I agree..

A mix of Goth style mods who have a way with women, a senior Japanese national, and a sexy current mod with plenty of SPEEDO pics would be a perfect mix:mtongue:

Of course, a good sense of humour is also a must and all the above have proven thesleves tiressly;)

Okay guys. Please stay on track. This is a thread about what the term moderator should mean... not about WHO you think should be promoted next.

I understand it is sometimes difficult for moderators not to get to involved, but I believe if they do, it can lead to a false sense of moderation security for other members.
A moderator should mean:
  • Sense of humour
  • Fun
  • Ability to remain neautral and not get involved
  • Ability to not let their personal feelings intimidate them or other users
  • Ability not to encourage problems between members
  • Ability to keep things happy, fun and lively with a pinch of salt in all directions
Did I miss anything;)

What are you saying, then?

Are you kidding? Every forum (that I'm aware of) has a bandwidth limit, if JF left inactive threads and duplicates there, JF would fill up the bandwidth and we'd be trash, until we just restarted everything. Those threads have to be deleted, to keep JF organized, clean, and to keep from having our server over encumbered.

It's not cherry picking, it's just getting rid of unnecessary threads.

Nonsense. Bandwidth is used only when a page is opened. If the posts are inactive for the moment they won't use any bandwidth. Search Engine bots use VERY low bandwidth, almost unnoticeable. JF organizes itself, not by others. I'm against removing old threads, keep them for reference or if someone wants to read them. I check old threads ond ifferent forums and it would be really disturbing to not find one (has happened here).

I've been in forums without mods. There's no chaos at all. Google 'SGCafe', if you doubt me.
