Is it worth the visit? I was going to combine it with the Bandai museum in Mibu, perhaps, and make it a day thing. Sometimes the websites aren't to descriptive or they actually make it sound better than it really is. If you've been there, is it worth it?

I surely hope there was western types as well! :) Even the earliest time I was there, in 1989, they had western ones. Of course they did, but it must have been a sight to see in person!

There were haha, but the stall I went into happened to be a traditional one. This was 2005 when I went for the first time. I had to get used to them though cause my high school only had western style toilets in the gym, which was across campus and i was on the third floor.

There are things in the souvenir store that you can't get anywhere else... they have a simulator that was fun for about 2 minutes.. a lot of history and technical information about different rail way system.

I would go again just for the souvenir store. The rest will be cool if you've never been, food and drink is bloody expensive there....

Love that! I also love that the Japanese know the love of their trains and sell all sorts of things with train themes. My Yamanote Line towels, keychains, eki-melo keychains, etc are piling up. I will get more items when I go back. Same goes for the Shinkansen and regular trains. I can't get enough of them!

They even got musuem of them. I also love the Kansai, Prepaid Collectible train Cards. I did not find them much in Tokyo though.

Besides the prepaid cards, I have not started collecting any train collectible though.

My new goal now is to get on the new Shinkansen to Aomori/Hokkaido. It has a business class seat on it:eek: But most of all, I still love riding the local trains :):rheart:

opps.. off topic

You know it's sad when the only users who agree with you are automated computer programs.
