Hehehe it was all blank... I went to JapanForums by habit and probably saw the blank page over a hundred times already. I thought I was banned!

Grateful that it's back :D!

Felt lost for a week, but home once again. Lol. Glad the forum is back

I was prompted to download something called "Znet"

I knew it was bogus.. but I'm wondering if anyone did actually download it and what sort of virus it was?

Was it 'Zend Optimiser'? That's what it was prompting me to download.

As far as I looked into it though, it wasn't a virus, and was a safe programme. BUT it wouldn't have made JF work, so it's a little pointless.

I didn't download it though, because I read that it wouldn't make a difference.

Oh yeah.. that was probably it.

It's strange though because if I remember correctly... it was trying to say that I couldn't access the page unless I downloaded it.

I think it was something that needed to be installed on the server that's hosting the website, not on the visitors' computers.

You can call it a disaster homepage, it only appears when the server can't call any of the pages from a site.

Nyororin 05-18-2011 06:37 AM

It`s something used server side.

I don`t really know what happened, and why we went down...
But my guess is that the company hosting the server or the administrators upgraded or changed something, and did not install / uninstalled some server side tools that are required for this site. (Zend)

Without these, there was no way to render the site, so all that came up was a blank page or a prompt to install the required server side tool.

Only a guess though.

I couldn't see this forum.
I couldn't successfully download "Zend Optimiser", either.
I wondered it might be some kind of virus.
I wondered what "PHP" was.
I wondered.......
