I agree with Nyororin i believe Japan has more important issues to deal with right now other than getting the Olympics. They need to focus on clean up and getting their economy stabilized not spending an absurd amount of money to host the Summer games. Even though having the games would be good for their economy a boost but you have to spend money to make money and the initial cost of hosting would be too much right now.

Agree totally.
With the winter olympics being awarded to Korea I don't think it helps at all for a Tokyo bid. Having both winter and summer olympics in Asian countries so close together? I don't think they have a chance even if you were to completely forget about the issues the country is still grappling with post earthquake.
