Japan discriminate against foreigners?

I heard that foreigners must register the fingerprints for "Security Reasons".And there was even a foreigners protest about that.Is that true? And what do you think?

MMM 11-20-2007 10:29 PM

They do this in America, too.

Welcome to the world of 2007.

I just wanted to know if that was true.I don't think Japan is wrong doing that.If you go to any country you must respect the rules of that country. But if USA does that too why there were americans protesting about that at Japan? That is senseless.:vsign:

Uhh...you included facebook in there

MMM 11-20-2007 11:20 PM

Why shouldn't a country know who they have entering their borders? I think it's responsible.

Kaicui 11-20-2007 11:28 PM

tbh, my dad's racist and he dislikes alot of foreigners who go to japan just cuz they like the country. My mom is neutral and im kinda prejudice

emiluvsjmusic 11-20-2007 11:35 PM

well just like other countries sometimes discriminating asians, japan sometimes discriminates foreigners too... o_O

forgotenmemory 11-20-2007 11:38 PM

Of course, every country has discrimination.

I think all it does is make travelling difficult.

QuoyaNatsume 11-21-2007 04:33 PM

Yes it does make it difficult. All of their main tourist attractions r prolly gonna lose some money from it over the next couple of yrs b'cause ppl don't wanna feel hasseled & treated like criminals.

But on the other hand, it does make it a little more safer for the country & the ppl who wanna visit:vsign:

Housetek 11-21-2007 04:45 PM

f*ing christ.. another one of these posts...

instead of wasting my time any more.

how bout you just go to japan and see if the people discriminate against you.

cuz the time i spent i spent there i wasnt. Although im Vietnamamese, i dont speak japanese. also i always had my friends from America come stay with me for weeks or months at a time, and the never had any problems with discrimination.

I've seen more discrimination and racism walking down broad street in Philadelphia in one day then my entire year spent in Tokyo.

I DO know and have seen Foreigners come in to Japan and start trouble and fights knowing that they wont be around for much longer, so they act like ass holes in another country.

Mainly during Fifa last year lots of English/German/American/Swedish people were causing trouble in the streets after football games.

If taking peoples fingers prints down and having their photos taken keeps people from acting like jerks just a lil bit then im all for it.

Also i was reading in the other most how MMM said that they caught a pedophile in Thailand from the fingerprint/photo thing.

forgotenmemory 11-21-2007 05:05 PM

That made me feel better.

snottie80 02-12-2008 12:55 PM

Hello

How are u all , me male 27 from pakistan , now in malaysia , i lost my whole family in earthquake of pakistan in 2004, my whole village destroyed , no one left , alone now , really need friends , [email protected]

mogya 02-12-2008 01:11 PM

> I heard that foreigners must register the fingerprints for "Security Reasons".

The fingerprints registration system is abolished at 1999.

Thunda 02-12-2008 01:12 PM

And also Acid says haves he's so funny when he says that! :p
But other than that, he mostly speaks better than an american!!! yeah!
When I talk to him I need dictionary LOL

And back on topic; I don't think it is a bad thing. You guys, know a very little of criminals/what they do, its evident for you guys to be a good person.
Since my brother is a criminal I know a lot about them and I even would do the same at my home!! Only thing is I dont have enough money for such a machine or ink to save fingerprints...

LOL

oh mogya just updated us.
