Ummm. I'm going to burst your bubble komitsuki.

A poll of thousands of people is more mathematically accurate than an internet forum (provided that it was carried out objectively).

In the news I'm seeing calls for revenge against the North. We have the new defence minister saying that if the North attacks again they will be bombed.

The only person that paints this picture of a South Korean government collapsing is you.

The media, the academics, and even my Korean friends are saying totally different things than what you are.

And especially Daum.

That's okay. You can always burst my bubbles. :) I have my pro-North belief as a South Korean liberal. I'm a proud Korean liberal, very rare in South Korea. But I'm a Korean-Canadian to be exact.

Truth will set us free. The conservative Lee Myeong Bak government will collapse.

You already have the wrong idea in the first place. Good news that the major teachers' union in South Korea is still pro-North.

Don't forget my post.

This is the part of South Korea that you don't see in the Japanese and the Western media.

You can say that, but the History is behind the statement. I allready showed how often the US has been involved in wars just this century.
And did the U.S. start these wars? I guess we shouldn't have invaded Europe then, our bad, we should restore the Nazis and make everything right.

I'm already oppressed enough in South Korea with a pro-American regime. ;)

I don't need an ex-soldier to tell me this fact, dongmu.

야당, 국회 로텐더홀 기습 점거

News: the pro-North opposition parties occupied the front lobby in the National Assembly to block next year's policy issues including the government's offensive attitude towards the North. (December 7th)

Ryzorian 12-08-2010 03:41 AM

We started Spainish American war, we started Mexican American war, we started War of 1812, we cleared out phillopeeno rebels by some of the most brutal methods ever known. We invaded and replaced 19 governments in south and central america. Not to mention Perry Forceing Japan to trade with us in 1857. The "Black Ships" is still considered a saying of doom/bad luck in Japan.

We strongly influenced The Boxer rebellion by forceing the Chinese to buy opium from us. WW1 was mostly over by the time we got into it, however it was done more because JP Morgan was worrid about looseing his holdings in Britain. Plus Britain and France didn't want the US forming treaties with Germany, thus the plot in Mexico and the Lusitania, wich had weapons on board. Esentially the British used civilians as human shields.

WW2 wasn't started by us persay, but we certainly helped matters by chooseing sides and supplying them with weapons and equipment. Hell China's airforce was basically American planes with American piolets and American mechanics shooting American bullets. The only thing Chinese about the Flying Tigers was the chinese emblame on the wings. Not to mention cutting off all trade with Japan and creating an oil embargo.

Korea was a UN thing, even though we did the bulk of the fighting.

Vietnam was a France problem intially, we kinda got snookered into that one.

I'm not saying the US is evil incarnate here, I'm pro American across the board. What I am saying is that the US has traditionally been aggressive diplomatically. That America is not afraid to get it's hand's bloody.

"Imploding"?

You're overstating things a bit aren't you?

Political scandal is nothing new and doesn't bring down countries. It just allows the opposition to win the next election.

No matter how shit both choices might be.. I'm doubting that the South will look to the North to solve their political shitstorm.

Not really unless you live here. So you want something related to the news source? This political scandal is often said to be in par with the May 16th coup d'etat in 1961. You don't see this level of scandal during the previous "democratic" governments of Roh Tae Woo, Kim Yeong Sam, Kim Dae Jung, Roh Mu Hyeon.

forgive me interrupting-- I would have thought that a person who lives in South Korea would know what it is like rather than outsiders-- some of whom believe they know everything. How about some respect for komitsuki?

someone who is over arrogant and believes that they know more than anybody else-- rudeness comes naturally to them-- not caring how they hurt people.

It would be easy to retaliate-- but then, that is coming down to their level after all.

There's nothing wrong or damaging about giving positive advices to your enemies. You could get ridiculed and there's honestly nothing to lose later if you did a mistake. Or read SunTzu's Art of War. :rheart: I'm feeling relieved these days that the million-strong Buddhist establishments in South Korea are officially turning against the government. ;) Something's done right. That's a good thing for my own mind and soul.

But whatever. Feel free to think of it as some grand spiritual or strategic gesture on your part lol

BBC News - South Korea's army chief resigns

Recent new today in South Korea. South Korean military is already dismantling. There are some rumors in South Korea that there would be a coup d'etat. North Korea already won without a big fight.

Sinestra 12-14-2010 02:36 PM

Ok enough is enough im actually requesting that this thread be closed. There is a reason why only a few are taking part in this discussion. Ronin and komitsuki iv said this before but your arguments drive people away from discussions and frankly im tired of it. If you two can not be nice to one another dont participate in discussions its really frustrating. and why i hardly participate in any thread where you two are currently having your war. Both of you are biased for obvious reasons Ronin is a free thinker while Komitsuki is a hardcore anti western supporter you will never agree and neither one of your will concede unless a thread is closed.

Im asking nicely STOP IT!

It is so arrogant not to consider THEM.

They are human beings for goodness sake.

and some of the american expatriates in beijing are very friendly to north korea. they do not understand the reason for america to antagonize north korea.

i have been reading chinese internet news articles in my comfortable room in oregon. what is the most shocking for americans to know is beyond expectation. what mostly komitsuki said is mostly right although he did not conclude properly.

the best way to understand north korea is simple. what does the chinese citizens think about north korea is the most accurate and the safest. komitsuki was wrong that south korea is the key to understand north korea.

i hope china would bridge between america and north korea.

we are capitalist loving americans. and our public should help our most important ally, the people's republic of china. that is merely all for peace.

Ronin4hire 12-19-2010 08:03 AM

In leaked cables via wikileaks it has been shown that China has expressed that it wouldn't mind a united Korea under Southern rule and also expressed growing impatience with North Korea, referring to NK as a spoilt child.

So if you're right then everyone else in the world is wrong.

I must say that I think I've decided who I believe.

Ryzorian 12-23-2010 04:35 AM

China maybe a tradeing partner, but it isn't an ally of the US.
