Japanese love hotels catering to women, not men
The love-hotel industry is one of Japan's most profitable. It accounts for more than ¥4 trillion a year, nearly four times as much money as the profit of Toyota Motors and double that of the anime market.
There are 30,000 love hotels nationwide providing places for the 500 million visits that take place each year. It is estimated that 1,370,000 Japanese couples use a love hotel daily (1 percent of the total population of 127 million people on any given day), and one research project has calculated that half of all sex in Japan takes place in a love hotel. There has been something of a power shift in love-hotel choice. It used to be the male half of a couple that decided on which hotel to go to, but times have changed... That's a lot
I would never go to such hotel just to have sex,but if you have a man of woman and you're in love with someone else, you have to go abroad ;) |
Well, being as it`s pretty common for Japanese people to live with their parents until they get married (and often for a while after, if not forever), there is a very good reason for going to a hotel.
Plus you have to admit it`s more fun to go somewhere cool instead of your boring little single bed. |
There are other places than a bed, not? :D
I just think,If a man takes me to a hotel,I think it's forced up,as if there has to be sex... |
You are thinking of sex way to special then. Alot of people just have sex, for sex. Both men and women. And especially in Japan where there is alot of sexual frustration combined with high stress levels sex is a great outlet to calm down some. Therefor its more accepted to have sex just for the physical act of it, ergo the major love hotel industry. And ofcourse what Nyororin said adds to that tendence.
There are actually some intresting articles circling around the web concerning the, what westerners more or less describe as, the perverted nature of Japan. I just think its awesome. Then again, dutch tend to be rather liberal about that stuff. So are most belgians. ;) |
And where else can I act out my train gropper fantasies without getting arrested????

But, why the people go to the Love Hotels?
you can´t have sex in your own home? |
I think people go to love hotels because its more interesting... i seen it on a TV show once..the rooms are really uh..different to a normal bedroom lol.
|
I have seen a TV programm in Spain (i´m spanish of course) a documentary about this.
|
People go to love hotels cos they still live with their parents or family and it's kinda embaressing to have your mom walk in on you while you're xxxxxxxxxx!

I'd hate to work there. Has anyone else seen that episode on 'Kelly Osbourne Turning Japanese'?
|
I saw it on youtube. dear god kelly ousborn whined like a spoilt baby who's obviously never done a proper days work in her life. Get those rubber gloves on and clean up those cum crusted sheets damnit!
actually egg had a 'love hotel report' section this month, and it had tales from people who work there. They went in to clean after a couple, and noticed they'd walked out with the plasma tv and high end stereo! Then the couple who rented a swimming costume outfit, but didn't return it to the front desk when they checked out...but they found it in the room, with holes for the nipples cut out lol. |
Me and my boyfriend actually talk about going there when I go visit him in a few months. Half the time joking, half the time not...-although we already erm...gave ourselves to each other before he went back to Japan-
I read, once, that they have this rule of thumb: If you're old enough to pay, you're old enough to play. Ha ha, that makes sense. :] |
Love hotels are sketchy nowadays. You need to be very careful as most are now run by Yaks. They set hidden cameras up in there and record what happends, then sell it on the net as porn. Can you imagin going there then 2 months later your on the cover of "Stupid Gaijins in Love Hotels. Part 1" ? I have my own pad... Me and my wife get REAL freaky... no worries of the people next door hearing us... unless we open the windows on purpose to let them know gaijin men get some... religiously. lol.
The middle class live in appartments with paprer walls almost. I guess they are embarresed to let others know they have a sex life. What little it may be. |
It's similar here in Hong Kong (as with many asian countries.) Most people here are forced to live with their parents for quite a long time due to high housing prices. Though I don't relish at the thought of having to pay each time I'd want to go at it  .

Ahahah! The room with the train design xDD That's hilarious!
|
Okay "Love Hotels" are new to me, but I've heard of this thing called a "Host Club"?? It's this place where women go & they look at a book & pick a guy to be their host and they are charged by the hour to be with this guy the funny thing is that a 1/3rd of the women who go there are keikoku/joufu (prostitutes). Sometimes it's just for companionship & others just for sex.

Love hotels sound kinda shifty but they're actually really nice. I live in Okinawa and when i went to Tokyo i met up with a guy friend and we got pretty drunk. We ended up staying in one and it was so nice. There was a TV in the bathroom ^_^ among other things. We couldn't get to my hostel or his house easily also he lives with his parents. But it was a fun night, and it wasnt that expensive.
So i have been to a few now and i think it's fun :) I don't really know if i have been filmed, i hope not! |
