European electronics

Hello,
Does anybody know if Japanese sockets work with 220V appliances (laptop, recharging camera)? Can 1,5V batteries and adapter for different plug-in types be easily bought inside Japan? Thx a lot

Hello,
I once got a japanese SEGA Megadrive when young. The alimentation bloc had two flat plugs (like americans) instead of our french two round ones, but the importator gave a small plug adaptor. So I believe you'll need to procure a set of worldwide adaptors (easy to find and not expensive) before going there.

But on the alimentation bloc I had a 110 / 220V switch, so I can't tell if they are still in entire 110V or if they have some areas in 220V.

So you'll need further info about voltage.

Have a look on your PSU (that is power supply unit) and note the (V) for voltage.
Most modern devices work on a range of 100-240v so you will just need to adapt for socket type.
Like buy an adaptor so the pins can fit the socket.

Really? I didn't know that. I'm quite amateurish in this kind of stuff :)
