How Tight Are the Japanese on age restrictions?
 

Hello everyone,lemme get straight to the point,was wondering how strict are the japanese in tokyo about restrictions regarding ages concerning pubs & night clubs?

They didn't check ID when I was there, they will make a rough guess of your age.

Though they definitely won't let you in if you are porven to be underage.

I am legal.. you know, we all discourage illegal activities, so my recommendation is "DON'T"

yesyes i know.i just want to know the "What if" situation =P.i am 'koff' 21years of age.Since u guys dont promote illegal activites(which is most certainly a good thing)i am legal,just need to know for a friend of mine:)

If you are 19 I wouldn't expect many problems.

If you are 16 I would suspect you'll have a hard time getting into clubs, depending on your looks.

I was carded (as a male) at some dance clubs in Tokyo and Osaka, but didn't have an issue at most bars.

Although, that's not to say 'your friend' won't be.

O.o Do they still have those beer vending machines? OH and the rice ones?

There's a beer vending machine not far from my apartment.

And I never get carded. I'm 24, but will be the first to admit, I look like I could still be under 20.
