Im goin to japan in a few weeks and am wondering:
How busy typically are the hot springs?
and how big are they?

Many thanks, LF101

There are literally thousands of hot springs all over Japan. Some are very small, some are very large. Some are incredibly busy, and some hardly have any visitors.

Do you have any idea of a specific hot spring? Otherwise it`s sort of like asking "How big are restaurants and how busy are they?" - too many possible answers.

Nyororin's answer is right. Can you narrow your question , lostfan?

Hi, I was planning to ask about Hot Springs and Onsen as well, and since this thread is already here, I decide to make my inquiries here instead of making a new thread on Hot Springs and Onsen...

Basically what I want to ask is if anyone know of any good peaceful and quiet onsen (at a not too expensive price if possible) located around Tokyo? And by around, it means that I'm okay with any of the prefectures surrounding Tokyo ^^

I recommend Hakone. Take the train named "Romance Car" from Shinjuku and you will be there in 85 minutes. Lots of inns to choose from.
