traditional / romantic spots near tokyo
 

Hi all, I'm going to be in Japan for most of the summer. in mid august, i'll be in tokyo and my bf might be able to come out. i'd really like to go to miyajima with him, but i don't think it will be viable this time. is there any place in the greater tokyo area that might have a similar feel? someplace traditional with a nice (not too expensive) ryokan? thanks for the help!

How far are you willing to travel? I agree with Hakone for an onsen resort if time is a concern, otherwise, give Kinugawa a shot, its one of the best onsen destination... and its close to nikko....

money is more of a concern than time ... something that would cost like $30-50 it get there, but i also don't want to spend most of our time traveling. these spots look great, thanks!
