cheaper way to travel to Japan in summer of 2012?

Are there any sites that can offer cheaper flights to Japan in July than the average price of $1700 round trip?

You're pretty late so I wouldn't bet on it.

This is July now. Buy a few months in advance and during the off seasons (fall, spring) for cheaper flights.

I beg to differ.... You're not looking at the date....

All the flight agencies told me now is the right time to book.

1700 is really much!

You're not in California either.... so price varies by distance and airlines....

True! But isn't America even much, much closer to Japan then Germany?

JohnBraden 07-21-2011 02:55 PM

They are probably about the same....

9357km NRT-FRA

8825km NRT-LAX

You also have to figure in federal taxes when calculating fares in the U.S.

I think you should wait to buy your ticket until you are closer tp the date. I am leaving tomorrow, and I got my ticket in the end of may for 1046$. (A LOT of internet searching. Almost got 989 deal as well but was a day too late.)

So dont lose hope ^^ (If you are under 16, by any rare chance, start doing small jobs to earn money. If you are older, an extra small job will help.)

Check with IACE travel, they usually have some pretty decent deal, but as the other suggested, may be a bit late to find discounted tickets for Japan, if any is still available...

This is for a 2012 trip, not a July 2011 trip....

Sorry, didn't know that....

Oh, I really thought it was for THIS july. Gotta learn to read I guess.

I remember to have read that booking a flight about 3 months before the departure date usually results in the best price, on average.

Personally I use airdig.com and I haven't come across anything cheaper for any flight I have booked.
