A friend of mine got a roundtrip for £325... but the problem with this flight is that he couldn't have any luggage, it was a what they call a courrier flight... a company pays for a percentage of your flight if you take a package for them, this is good if you are not bothered about not taking a suitcase and just wanna go and come back empty handed.

hopefully i'll be taking one of these flights when i go out there to live for a year

well, I was planning to use British Airways for my flight... you could book it online (ba.com).... choose your dates and everything, it should be less than £600 (you said you are very flexible, so just coose the dates the flights cost less) [in case you'd start your flight in Germany, which I do, it's even cheaper... i'll pay about £450, i think]

yup, BA via Dusseldorf is around 650€....

Try Finnair aswell. Im flying with them and found them to be the least expensive yet providing the best route and service.

Look for a ticket from Helsinki - Japan (usually either Narita AP, Nagoya or Osaka w/e). A ticket to Helsinki shouldnt be that expensive.

Cheap Student Travel, Flights, Hotels, Hostels, Insurance, Bus & Rail | STA TRAVEL | STA Travel Home

search there. After 5 round trips to Japan, I've found that they can find the cheapest prices, and can offer student and young persons discounts if that applies.

And what you talking about this summer not being bad??? It's been the hottest summer ever!! You keep seeing articals about how not to die of heat exhaustion and stuff.

yeah this summer is sooooo hot.. I think maybe one of the hottest summer in Japan.. railroads bend, old people died of heat stroke, one baseball player (in Kobe ) died , and another construction worker also died of heatstroke..
