Postal Services in Japan..
Hi guys! I was wondering what's the maximum weight for international postage is it in japan??

It looks to be 30 kg according to the Japan Post Office website. It has an English website if you need it.

I've never shipped to Japan before, but I have shipped internationally. I would go to the post office and ask them -- postage is charged based on weight, so the way I understood it, so long as you're not shipping bricks, you'll be golden ^_^ I suggest staying within a weight category, because once you hit a certain weight, I remember the charge being ridiculous.
That's just my experience, but I don't ship PARTICULARLY heavy objects. ---Rei |
I never shipped more than 15kgs from Japan, but I rememer that it isn't possible to ship any package from a post office (which offers transport by ship, "surface air lifted" SAL, or by plane) if it weights more than 60kgs.
Extra heavy loads can be sent only through particular post offices. If you have particular needs, you could always send your items using an international carrier like FedEx or UPS. They're very expensive, but there is -virtually- no weight limit. Quote:
I sent 11kgs with SAL and it costed me around 10000yen, so the average is 1000yen per kilogram. |
I've sent several 30kg packages by funebin (boat) before, and they cost 10,000yen a pop.
