Best Time To Go To Tokyo in Summer?
 

I want to spend a month in Tokyo and I was wondering what's the best time to go during the summer? June-late July are the options. So if I go in July I can stay until late-August. June and July seem to be the rainy season followed by humid weather. Is it a lose-lose situation no matter what time I go in the summer?

Well, what do you prefer ? Steamy hot rainy days or steamy hot dry days.

I think this has be posted numerous times because I have replied on this numerous times but anyway here we go again.

Tokyo's rainy season is June. So be wary around this time it's warm though so it7s not so uncomfortable. The summer time july - August and some of September is HOT HOT HOT! I think the best time is September still nice and warm but not uncomfortable.

If you are form Canada or any other cold climate places even up till December is heaven. I arrived for my first time in Tokyo on December 23rd. I was wearing a T-shirt. My Japanese friends thought I was crazy though.

Anyway I pick September woot!

the later the better.. tokyo is super hot and humid during the summer months.

Can I ask how hot, temperature-wise? Like 40C for example. I'm still freezing around 30C, but as soon as it hits about 38C I boil. I'm a bit weird, but I was looking at Japan around this time... or maybe march/april- is it cold then? To be honest I have no idea what Japan is like in the ways of climate, it's never really occured to me...

It shows the average temperature values of each month. Knowing that you are freezing with 30C, March and April may be still too cold for you (around 12-18C).

Keep in mind though that 30C may feel alot warmer (steamy) then you are used to, because of the humid climate. I was in Japan this summer for a month and even though it was unusually warm for that time of the year (close to 40C), you don't feel alot of difference between 30C and 40C, it's both steaming hot.

Thanks! Last time I was in humid weather, I really liked it... [I was in Caprii] just something about it seemed nice, I dunno what though... lol. Except I guess it makes your hair stick out all over the place, well it does to my dry hair... also I assume that Tokyo gets a bit groggy and stuffy like other cities [back onto Italy, Rome killed me the first day I was there it was dry, 40C and the air was completely still, thank God I carry fans as fashion accessories, lol.]

I am planning on going to Japan in the winter time after I graduate college in Dec 09 so I will experience its cold climate then. However, for now September is out of the question because I will have class beginning then. I was thinking about going in mid/late July and coming home in mid/late August. I think 1 month in Tokyo is perfect for my first trip to Japan.

Probably steamy hot dry days since I won't need to have an umbrella and I can be out with a camera without getting it wet.

I would probably go the month of July. August...sucks.
