I'd say use lots of saftey pins! That always makes my outfits look edgier and more visual-kei-like. Also, I think those surgery-mask things with kanji on them are so cool for VK ~ !

i know i love those masks i want on and just wear it around everywhere

funny you bring this up, while I was looking through stuff from hot topic I ran into a belt I thought was really VK and was upset realizing I ahve nothing to match it with lol

You can try to make visual-kei outfit yourself and take a base from old clothes or ones you don't need. It's usually the best way to get something original and what you can't find in shops. Sewing of course can be troublesome, that's way it's easy to mix clothes together. If you have good ideas then it's possible.
If you are getting into visual-kei style only now, I'd suggest you to start slowly and carefully. A visual-kei fail is disgusting. If you do it, do it right!

Ooh. I have a belt like that, but it's red and black instead. Only cost 12$, too.
