I've seen a couple of Lolitas here.
One of them was at my old high school.
It was unusual, especially at a school, but the fact that she was a cute spanish girl prevented many from bothering her. :p

I disagree.
While it's true that America's culture is influenced by many different cultures, overall, it is it's own culture, with it's own fashion styles; borrowing concepts from other cultures as well as inventing it's own.

Try Hottopic they have some amazing clothes there, that where i buy some of my clothes.... when i have my money saved up...depending what you buy cuz they're expensive

Hot Topic!!!!!!

I go to hot topic for basically all my clothes... i got this mini skirt with lace upon the bottom, just like a loli skirt... im wearing it to the Van's Warped Tour featuring OreSkaBand *from japan*!!!!!!!

but yeah, i guess that america is its own culture, but i just people wouldnt steryotype here and look at you wierd... there are many other things to do than just stare at someone and think to yourself, whoa... that person is dressed very wierdly...

And most of the time, loli's and harajuku are actually dressing to show off for their favorite bands, so it really doenst matter what you look like to the others, its how you feel how you look... I like Dir En Grey, so i dress and do everything like kyo... no matter what anyone tells me, i still dress this way... I hate when people say you look wierd then they start to do the same thing you are doing....

~Basically i am the only loli/harajuku dresser in my high school, but that wont be for long, since this year i am a senior..... And i make most of the things that i wear to begin with...

80's fashion was ok, but to tell you the truth.... it was kinda tacky... if they didnt wear so many cheesy skirts and stuffs like that.... well maybe it would be okay....

~BUT COLORS ARE OKAY!!!!!!!!! its the harajuku way... '-.- ~

crazyjrockluver 07-18-2008 03:08 PM

i hate that too, just let people wear whatever they want... if they feel comfortable with it then fine.... i usually wear whatever i'm in the mood for

crazyjrockluver 07-18-2008 04:06 PM

really, never knew that....

That's a pretty precise number. How did you come up with that conclusion? ;)

hot topic lolita???

hot topic is such an overrated store with just a selection of mainstream fasion and too overpriced for the quality of clothing...how anyone can create lolita dress based off the clothing there is beyond me! you can always tell when someone is wearing hot topic clothing, its so unoriginal.

crazyjrockluver 07-18-2008 07:31 PM

true most of the clothes are like 20$ or higher and when i go back a week later they don't have what i'm looking for cuz its already sold out

XxLoveDiruxX 07-19-2008 04:35 AM

ok, ok people, calm down

if there isnt a hot topic store around, where do you expect goths to buy their clothes?? lol

they sell very good music there too, i just got Oreskaband's Woa!! from there, and i met ORESKABAND at the warped tour and they signed the book also....
but back to hot topic... if you want to spend your money thre, then you can do that... i like the clothes there, but i usually buy accessories like necklaecs and purses from there, and i bought the skirt cause i thought it was cute!!!

and i think america is alot of countries put together, from china and japan to india and london... you gotta look at it like this- where would we be without china to make things like toys for us and for japan to make good video games/systems and for india without their products and london without their punk rock fashion sense and make-up??

its true that the US steals alot of countrie's stuffs, but like i said, where would we be?

........................................................................... .............................

i love the style of japan's people, and there just isn't enough people excercizing the right to wear it in other countries...

There are a bunch of American websites you can check up on.

Lolita is a fashion in Japan, but it's not the biggest. I love it.

Anywho... In America, there aren't that many people with lolita fashions. It's not as socially acceptable here and it's kind of embarassing in America more than Japan because there's a more likely chance you would see lolita in Japan.

There's this REALLY great magazine in Borders called the "Gothic Lolita Bible" where you can find LOTS of links and things to do for the fashion in it. I find it in the manga isles in my Borders, but I don't know about yours. Order it on a computer in your store if it's not there and it's $20. All color, patterns, and HUUUGE pages which are chock-full of fun stuff.

Being the geek I am, I'm making a "Dream Cafe" which is going to be all lolita. I'm making a scrap book with pictures of everything that will be sold in the cafe, the uniforms, and the furniture. :mtongue:
