A question about amarican girls and kimonos.
I was wondering if Japanese people as a culture have issue with Americans wearing kimonos, cause I love how they look and want to make one... Sorry if this is the wrong section.
|
Nope. Not at all.
|
Make it, but please don't wear it :)
|
I don't see why they would, some of the kimonos I have seen are really stunning, and I see no reason why a non-japanese couldn't to wear them.
Making one though, what a challenge! I'd love to see the finished thing. |
Thanks guys!
Yeah, making it will be a pain but... And I am going to wear it. :D |

Heh, sure. :D
And I don't really see whats wrong with wearing a kimono even though I'm not Japanese. Just saying. |
Kimonos are incredibly easy to make compared to other clothes. Kariginu are even easier....
(I have a thing for kariginu... Too bad almost no one knows what they are.) |

Simple ones are easy to make. o.O Obviously... heh. but the one I want to make is pretty complicated.
Ooh, I looked up kariginu, very pretty.:D |
That would be awesome.
I'd love to wear one, but since I am well endowed in the "chestal" area it may turn out to be bulky & make me more top heavy than I already am. Thats why I would like try a yukata... & i know you can go to ebay for some kimonos & its accesories... |

My sister actually looks nice in a kimono. I wore one for my wedding but certainly can`t say it looked nice, or anything close to "right".
But hey, that`s life. |
