You can get some really awesome ones second hand in Japan for next to nothing. They are great for display items. I bought a traditional white wedding over robe for only 5000 yen. It is beautiful and has the full padded hem and a crane design in pearly white. A great find.

so where did you find it?
Got at one of the big department stores in Tokyo on their Kinono floor. They sometimes sell second hand kimonos there. Otherwise you can find them also at recycle stores. They are becoming really popular in japan now over the past 5 years or so. They never were a big thing before. So the recycle stores are starting to pop up everywhere.

I want to know what kind kimono?
what different about kimono and Furisode?
I really have no idea :(
a furisode is a formal kimono worn by a young unmarried lady. It has the very long sleeves and usually brighter patterned than those of a more mature or married lady would wear.
You would normally see alot of girls wearing furisode for their coming of age ceremony at 20. They are very expensive. |
I put a pic of me wearing a furisode on the previous page.
