I was wondering if anyone know what I bought fits me in age, what occasion should it be worn, and what season is more fit to wear it? it is a light lavender silk kimono with small flowers all over. I should take a pic, but if it turns out to be too difficult to determine from my description i will. Help anyone?:ywave:

Do you mean light as in weight or light as in colour? If it is a lightweight it would be a semi formal/ smart casual summer kimono. Has it long or short sleeves? How old are you? You could wear it shopping, meeting people for tea, not night time, day things that require a little more than a cotton yukata. Lunch, tea ceremony etc etc.

You would wear Hakama. A kinmono topped with wide leg pleated style pants and a jacket called a haori. Dark colours are formal hakama. The pants are usually striped.

Hi! i am 23, sorry for the vague info. The sleeves are 2 inches shorter than my wrist bone. I thought it would be longer b/c im still a bit young, hehe...I personally think its light in weight, but...it might not be, um it is 2 layers, top layer is a thick silk and the bottom layer is a white thin silk.

Tell me if it is meant for an older person, if i can wear it in summer, spring, fall, or winter? Thanks!!

Hi. I definately wouldn't call it a young persons kimono, but it is very refined. But 23 in Japan isn't considered that young. But usually a kimono like that would be worn by someone in their mid 30's to 40's.
Great for tea ceremony. Not quite sure about season can't quite figure out how heavy the silk is and the pattern is a little confusing for me I will have to consult my japanese grandmother who is a professional kimono dresser.

That last one is very colorful. The leaves in her hair really bring out the design.

I also noticed that a lot of Japanese celebrities/models have colored done-up nails, with different patterns, sparkles, and shapes everywhere. I was just wondering why this so popular.
