Why don't you tell your stylist what you want and if he is going to say you have to cut it short, then just tell your hairstylist it's not what YOU want and either he cuts your hair the way YOU want(you're his customer=$$$$ for him), or you are going to another hairstylist.

*pats your head* Don't worry. If u tell ur stylist, that u wanna keep it long, I'm sure they can figure something out that'll suit u. ^__^
