You'd call that kawaii? O.O To me they look more like a plague.

And yeah, I like J-rock but would never dress like them. I won't be more of a fan because of the way I dress, nor will any of you (sorry to be sincere).

But well, this sort of clothes obssesion has always worn me out so don't take it personally. ^^

actually the pictures that the poster posted was from a loooooooonnnng time ago. (and back then, 'that' was consider kawaii...)
they look different nowadays... ^^ they're actually really cute with their looks and personality... and actually they're pretty popular in Japan. Lots of men are actually really into them (laughs) and when they released their most recent album they were announced the 'most CD selling femal group' in Japan ^^

why does that bother me so much?

Umm cause those girls probably know nothing about music (real music, I mean) and they got famous just cause they're cute and that's pretty much what everyone cares about. Such a pity. As I always say, you no longer need to be a musician to record a CD: the machines do the hard work for you, and that is what pisses me off the most (unless we're talking about electronic music, but that's another story).

well actually i do agree to the fact that there are lots of people who get into the entertainment business by looks even the people above that i posted up. but then out of those girls there actually are a few who got into that group because they could really sing... i mean without recording and all. right on the spot (i heard before^^)
so there are some people who does look nice and could sing...
for example...

(and ai takahashi who is the current leader of morning musume. now she could actually sing ^^ also, she got in partly because she won a singing contest at the age of 12)
so please...if you ever have a chance or just if you want to...
give them a shot... or at least check out ai takahashi's 'yume kara samete'...

Well I have this kind of power that allows me to see whether I'm going to like something or not even before checking it out. And I'm pretty sure what my opinion about this would be, so I won't bother trying to change it, not my style.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they're bad stuff (not explicitly anyway).

well... i was partly trying to answer your comment and i was also partly telling others too. its ok that you dont want to check it out, i dont expect you to try it or anything like that... just if you wanted to or had the time.
i think the main reason that i made this thread was to really just let people see another part of the music industry in Japan and let people just try it out.

I dunno if they are 14, but thats the age they look like to me.

well actually to be honest with you... there are some girls in morning musume that are that age..some even start out at 12. (and in other groups from that company...some girls even started to join the business at a 'single-digit' age.)
but the thing is that its perfectly legal in Japan! as long as it doesnt show nudity or anything like that then they r fine...
now THAT i do find something wrong... but then really i just like them for their music and style and tats really all there is to it...

I'm not into kawaii style, I'm more into normal outfits and punk/rock.
But my good friend is into "decora" I think it is very cute but usually people hate these kinda teens(most of peoples in Finland). I think it's none of others business how do they dress. Here is a picture of her and her friends. -->
