Takoyaki!!
I've always been way too scared to try it personally, but if any of you all out there have tried it or can give me advice on where to get it, or recommend if I should even try it, I'd be much obliged.

It's good. Where do you live? It's common for street vendors to sell it in Kansai.
Or you could buy one of these and make them at home... Pancake Puff |
delicious.. famous in osaka.. you can find some good takoyaki store in dotonbori area, in between shinsaibashi and namba..
there is also a very good takoyaki store in ame-mura ( but i don't know if its still there though ).. best to eat it when hot.. very careful though not to burn your tongue.. |
what is there to be scared of? it is a very nice snack but for me a whole dinner based on it gets a bit too much haha

I bought a tako-yaki cooker for under 2000 yen. It works pretty well. I don't like octopus so we usually make ebi-yaki or cheese-yaki.

It's very common to find street vendors selling in all over the Kansai area. I've eaten it, and I've also helped make it at a festival one time. For myself, I prefer to leave out the octopus tentacle... I always describe tako as a "fish-flavored gummy bear" in terms of texture...

There's nothing to be scared of! Takoyaki is delicious!
Obviously, only if you like the taste of octopus... if you don't like it, stay away from takoyaki. |
Takoyaki is very very good in my opinion. I got to know this takoyaki vendor and his wife because I would always buy from them. They even offered to let me home stay if I wanted too.
