I like spicy things though. I often get vindaloo curry at indian restaurants, although I assume it might actually be hotter in india than in the UK.

I know that this is a bit off-topic for a thread on Japanese food, but I think that vindaloo is one of those things that's more popular in England than it is in India. It tends to be something that drunk British men eat to show off to their women folk, but it really just means something cooked with vinegar (and garlic?). The real men, of course, eat phall in Indian restaurants after pub closing time. That is usually the hottest thing on the menu and therefore even more impressive to the long-suffering British womenfolk. ;)

Sounds like a good thing by me also, the restaurant will give you a full on experience you will remember hopefully as a first impression and from then on udon noodles will taste awesome ^^ :p

I'm definetely no show off but in a decent amount of indian restaraunts vindaloo may be the hottest thing on the menu. Of many places will serve hotter curries which I would probably stay far away from I was just using it as an example to say that I would probably like curry udon if it was spicy.

Yes, indeed. My message wasn't intended to be insulting to you, though I can see that it might have looked that way. :o

Oh, and by the way - from The Japan Centre in Piccadilly: curry flavour noodles!

Unfortunately for me I live in the north-west where there is nothing and nothing ever happens. It kinda sucks since London is one of the only places I almost almost semi-like in England, but it's pretty expensive.

I found a place in Manchester though that looks pretty good. Not been to it yet though so I can't say for sure but they're website looked okay.
