Quick and easy meals

I'm looking for some new ideas for some quick and easy to make meals. I make somen alot cuz it only takes about 5 mins and I usually have it with various tsukemono and tenpura, and there's ochazuke for leftover gohan.

What do you guys like to whip up for a quick meal?

Well you can make onigiri in like 1 minute if you have the rice prepared. Well it depends on the type of onigiri... but still, pretty quick and good :)

Boiled mochi flakes and peaches or orange slices taste good. Strawberry works well too and on cold days heated mixed berries [blueberries, rasberrys, strawberrys] taste good over the mochi. Or anko as well if you really want to go japanese c=

Yuujiro,
Thanks for the solving my plans for a quick dinner before dancing tonight! :)

Of course, in my case it will be chicken and ponzu, instead of quail and soy, but still a great suggestion.

My favorite short cooking meal is a salat.

Cut a cucumber in thin stripes. Put it in a bowl an adding 3 table spoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon Chinkiang vinegar. Mix it and serve it 30 minutes later with rice and egg/fish/tempura what ever. It tasty to all.

That does sound pretty gross, lol. One thing I do like with banana though is arare, slice up the banana and stick little pieces of arare in them.

Korean style mixed rice [BibimBap]

Much like Yuujis Tamago recipe.

This one has a little bit more ingredients.

I mixed/cooked everything in my rice cooker

Beansprouts
carrot- grated
Hot pepper paste
sesame oil
soy sauce
toasted nori[op]
rice
1 egg
you can add meat, thinly sliced beef is nice.

Cook the rice first, in the rice cooker or whatever you're using, and then when it's done, take it out of the pan, and spread sesame oil onto the pan again, and put the rice back in, leave to sizzle for a few minutes, until the rice underneath is crispy. Then when it is still in a hot pan, or the rice is still sizzling hot, arrange ingredients on top, and crack the egg on top. Mix together.
Mix in hot pepper paste and season to depending on your own tastes.

The hotness of the rice in the pan will cook the egg as you mix. =D
Cooking everything in one bowl/pan. =D
