pastry or desserts? haha to me they're both the same. i just like seeing how in anime/manga the characters go to these bakeshops and then they order these really delicious looking pastry or dessert lol. so if you could, can i see whats your favorite "thing"

My favorite is the Taiyaki. It's a red snapper-shaped crisp pancake with sweet bean paste inside.

I'd have to say Taiyaki is my favorite too. Anything with red bean paste has the potential to be awesome for me, but taiyaki wins.

MageYuri387 12-29-2008 06:50 AM

Oh my gosh that just made me so hungry right now! I haven't had that in so long since I moved.

Oooh. It's really good. I love the green tea one. ^_^

Hatredcopter 12-30-2008 06:31 AM

Freshly made melon pan (maple flavored) always hits the spot for me.

green tea ice cream and melon pan  i saw these in yakitake japan but i never tried it yet. i want to so bad. you know they have these in hawaii?

Arikado 12-30-2008 09:18 AM

How about just regular mochi? I love that too.

MageYuri387 12-30-2008 07:16 PM

Yeah, that's good too. But I prefer the ice cream ones. Green tea and strawberry are the bomb. Usually, I don't like strawberry but I love how it feels with mochi.

I've a particular weakness for kare pan, especially in the morning when it's freshly-baked. It's essentially a semi-sweet doughnut filled with chicken or vegetable curry (sometimes others, depending on your bakery), covered in panko, and deep-fried.

Om nom nom! :rheart:

"Om nom nom" <-- perfect words to describe my quench for this delicious treat ~.~

hennaz 04-22-2009 03:10 PM

Melonpan, anpan, mochi, dango, dorayaki. They all go well with green tea. De-fricking-licious:D

Reavyn 05-04-2009 08:38 PM

Why do I torture myself so by looking at this food that I could never find here. I CAN get Mochi ice cream (Green tea at that) but it's so very expensive here that I can only treat myself every once in a while. But man is it worth it. Besides pocky and other candies, I've never had such treats before..
