Conbini Store Junkie

Everyone loves a trip to the 7/11, Lawson, Sunkus, etcetera. What is your most frequently purchased item when visiting the conbini? Multiple choice is available for those of us who like to get two things together. Such as my biggest vice would be beer and yaki-tori since most of the time when I stop at the conbini I am a) already drunk or b) about to go drinking and need to "warm-up."

mine usually is onigiri and sometimes bread ...

I get the impression that most people on JF have never been to Japan and therefore have no idea what half these things are.

If you are not in Japan, imagine yourself being there quite soon. What are you going to buy on your first trip to the Lawsons (my personal favorite of all the convenient stores)?

I usually buy a bottle of milk tea, (Kochakaden if they have it), any new cool pack drinks they have, bread of some sort, and an onigiri. Oh, and half the time I also pay some bill.
It`s almost a 100% set pattern.

Totally forgot paying the bills. Another reason to love Japan, I can buy things from Amazon and pay down the street instead of getting a credit card. Life is grand.

I was going to say beer but then realised I always buy that from the supermarket. So I usually get sandwiches or oxygen cans fro 7/11

Lawsons was the closest conbini to where I lived so thats where I went the most often, usually after drinking, because for regular shopping the super market was cheaper, but damn they have some good niku-man and sandwiches...

but yeah...bills! Bills is the number one reason I went to the conbini.

LittleSpoon 08-26-2007 08:27 PM

Oh...

I forgot my favorite conbini food. Curry bread. :mtongue:

Sandwiches, onigiri and drinks.
I used to eat conbini's obento.. but then I tried 手作りお弁当 (hand made bento) and since then I never bought them.

Buy cigs, pay bills...buy drinks, usually iced coffee or tea, meal then sandwich, or onigiri, or pan...oh and those cold tan tan noodles are pretty tasty...

And I buy Egg/Mens Egg/Mens knuckle when it's out or some housewife gossip magazine if I'm in the mood...

mrpawn 08-28-2007 12:23 AM

Mochi is those dough covered ice cream balls right? well, idk if its dough or some marshmellow thingy...

masaegu 09-12-2007 08:14 AM

Magazines, newspapers, chewing gums, softcreams, soft drinks, bento, sandwiches, cold soba and soumen, etc..... Also I go to the conbini to send packages domestically.

kitsumekat 09-27-2007 02:43 AM

I buy sweets and soda. Maybe some i-ramen

Katchan6 09-27-2007 02:53 AM

i luv bentou... and those sandwiches in plastc boxes and they're in triangles :D

Rogozhin 10-01-2007 01:31 AM

Let's see...I used to buy plenty of Tuna & Mayo Onigiri, Nikuman (meat dumplings), Gari gari kun (Soda flavoured iceblocks) and Chocopies at コンビニs. I bought more onigiri than anything else though..

reptilesandsamurai 10-01-2007 01:42 AM

When I was in Japan, after a long day of doing whatever, I would stop at the 7-11 and get some Onigiri and an Asahi super dry tallboy or two.
