Whats the best way to learn Japanese

I need help!I'm learning japanese and I have a course book, but how should I start. They give me a list of words that I have to study, but memorizing it is a pain.Any suggestions?

its takes a lot of practice, I know that.
I think just patience would help, learning a language isn't easy.
Also, getting Language CD's help a lot too. You can hear the
pronounciations and everything.

Thanks^^ my course came with Cd's
my frieds suggested flash cards maybe they both will help

i usually just review it in my mind.
If I cant figure out a pronounciation and it sounds wrong on the CD, i go
online and hear it spoken in a sentence. That helps me understand how
it is spoken casually.

Yeah I actually do better with online lessons
but I try to learn when I have free time.Mostly in class though lol

haha, same here. I do with most of my free time.
I was watching a tv show and they slipped in a few japanese words that i wasnt expecting. and I completely caught on and picked it up.

If u are native english speaker the sounds may be a bit hard at first, but i think the best way to memorise vocabulary is to have something like cellphone with it or something writen with u all the time, and if u have free time just look at it and try to memorise. ohh and reading conversations helps, i catch things here.

I try to drown myself in japanese for a day and sometimes I catch words in songs from like an cafe and I know what it means.
I know greetings and a few random things from anime lol
