Keyboard drama
I installed the east-asian characters thing for windows and such but my keyboard is completely messed up when i use it, for example i type 'k' and i get the symbol for 'Su'
can anyone help? |
Press left ctrl + left shift + CapsLock. This should turn off direct kana input and your keyboard should switch back to romaji input mode.

where is everybody getting all of these " i can type in Japanese now" things anyway? I want one....
|
Yup that must be it ^^... make sure you've followed these instructions correctly step by step --> http://www.japanforum.com/forum/gene...s-your-pc.html

Maybe i need a nother keyboard?? i'm a computer-idiot sorry if the answer is deadsimple :| |
Your keyboard should be fine.
|
Wow, I didn't about the ctrl+shift+CAPS thing... But playing with it, it's kinda useless if you don't know which key is which symbol.
Besides, mine wants to type in katakana for some reason--and it doesn't seem to want to to go to hiragana :P |
Well i looked it up and i found on a site that a japanese keyboard has the symbols 'ta te i su ka n' where our keyboards have 'qwerty'
That's the same for me, when i type qwerty i get the symbols for tateisukan so i think everything is fine, it's just a little hard to type japanese when i have to memorize where all the symbols are  |
