a long sentence I can't cope with

well I wanted to tell something to this japanese person and I need help cause it's confusing me here, it's long... I would like to know how YOU would translate this (in kanjii please) you please:

"Speaking of black people, did you know that this year' christmas concert in Assisi was directed by a black man?"

Yeah, people tend to underestimate the awesome power of の as a nominalizer.
