I'm only in Japanese 1 but I think it means:
"The game isn't over!~"

akino 01-06-2009 08:40 PM

sure?

ok (peace) thanks for your answare^^

MMM 01-06-2009 09:29 PM

I would read it as "The game doesn't end."

Lucas89 01-06-2009 09:36 PM

That is also what i read it as.
Also since Rin244 said "The game isn't over!" i tried to think of what that would be.
So would i be correct in thinking that it would be along the lines of ゲームがまだ終わってない ?

Yeah, I second MMM.

This sentence is referring to the near future though it uses present tense grammatically. If I had to translate it, I would say:

"The game's not gonna end (if something happens/if you keep doing this or that, etc...) "

Something/someone is preventing the game from ending.

"The game isn't" or "wont be over" Depends on how you say it...

MMM 01-07-2009 12:40 AM

"Isn't over" would be 終わっていない

"doesn't end" would be 終わらない

C6248 01-07-2009 12:46 AM

It depends on how you inflect the sentence... Maybe I'm all screwed up. The only Japanese I know is the back country southern Japanese drawl (nearly Okinawa pigeon like) my parents taught me as a little kid.....:)

I'm sorry but no matter how you say it, the OP's sentence doesn't mean "The game isn't over."

Rin244 01-07-2009 02:39 AM

Oh. Sorry I wasn't very helpful, was I? ._.''

akino 01-07-2009 03:18 AM
