To be honest, it's not even worth torrenting. It's very difficult to learn any grammar through the amount of instructional material it gives you, and the amount of vocab you learn is minimal.

DO NOT get Rosetta Stone. It is NOT worth the $250. I suggest getting Elementary Japanese Vol 1 for now. It teaches you the writing systems (including kanji) and also teaches you words and everything you need to know about particles and conjugation. Also try to get The Complete Idiots' Guide to Conversational Japanese so that you can know survival phrases.
