Tokushuon Katakana
OK, so I have a list of all the katakana I need to know except for those in the Tokushuon division. Japanese Language & Characters - Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji (For those of you who for some reason don't know.) I can't seem to find a complete list of these kana anywhere on the internet. Some list 13, other like Wikipedia around 37, and here 44(?). So does anyone know ALL of these kana? I'd really like to memorize all the kana I might come across and without these I might have trouble in the near future... so help?

If you know all the regular kana, you can infer what the combinations are
ex.. You know ク=ku and イ=i then... クィ is ク(ku) +イ(i) which makes the sound kui which is spelled in romaji as kwi |
Edit: beaten to it
you don't really need to memorize all of the seperate combinations of kana since if you just learn the pronounciation of the individual kana you will know how to read it anyway, since the sound doesn't really change. Lets take for example イェ from that chart on the link you provided (I'm assuming these are the katakana combinations your talking about). you will learn イ as an ee sound like in the word feet, and you will learn エ as an e sound like in the word enter now say both those sounds together and you get イェ, which completely eliminates the need to memorize all of those seperate little combinations. Not very good examples i know but you get the picture. |
Ooohh! I understand now. I can't believe I didn't notice that before. haha Thanks a bunch! ;)
