help to translate a sentence
 

I tried to translate a few sentences from english to japanese; for example in this one:

6 minutes left to that encounter he had been waiting for 7 years
彼が7年を期待していたその出会いに6分が残りました。

Do you think that the translation is correct? Do you see any mistakes?

The machine translation isn't too bad.

Only 6 minutes left before he meets with (xxx) which he has been waiting for 7 years.

Are you sure you didn't pass the Japanese through to machine translator that spits out English? I'm a native, and I don't understand what this English is supposed to mean!

or

あと6分で、彼が7年間待ち続けた出会いが実現します。

It means that person has been waiting almost 7 years. 6 minutes left until 7 years of waiting...(I think that what it means).

Oh, it is different form what I understood.

My understnading is that the talker or story teller knows the encounter will happen in next 6 minutes.

I guess i just made it a bit more confusing. Lets negate my comment then.

So is it supposed to mean something like "Six minutes from now, it will be seven years he has been waiting for the meeting"? It feels like a very kludgy sentence to be saying in English.

I'm sorry but this Japanese sentence will not be understood.
So if I modify minimally your original translation...,

彼が7年間期待していたその出会いまで6分が残りました。
This will be understood, I think.

However,
彼が7年間期待していた出会いまで
あと6分になりました。
might be better.

And,
彼が7年間待ち望んでいた出会いまで
あと6分になりました。
may be still better.
