IME question: ウォ
Hey all, I have a question about IME. How would you write: ウォ ? Thanks.
|
I don't know if there is a shorter way but you can just type this:
uxo ウォ |
Type U-X-O and change it to katakana.
EDIT: Never mind, I was beaten to it. |
ulo also works.
After you type it, press F7. |
The best suggestion is the U X O because it works on Mac and Windows. U L O does not work on Mac.
Side note: does anyone know how to type "we" and "wi" on a Mac? I can't seem to figure it out. It is "we" and "wi" in Windows, but that gives me うぇand うぃ on my Mac. :/ |
Whenever I type 'we' and 'wi' on my pc it gives me the same thing.
If I want to type the old kana out I have to press spacebar to bring up the IME after typing 'we' or 'wi' |
Yeah, that doesn't work on Macs either. There's no option to get we and wi even via the spacebar.
|
The only other thing i can think of if you haven't figured it out yet is that some IME's require you to type 'xwe' and 'xwi', so i guess that's worth a try.
(I think its the Anthy IME which I have a feeling might be Linux but like I said, worth a try) |
Lucas89, tested and it doesn't work. Thank you very much for your suggestion, though.

So I searched on google for a few minutes even though I don't own a mac (Yea this question was actually bugging me that much :p)
Mac uses an IME called Kotoeri apparently. I found this table. Anthy : xwi or wyi - ゐ Anthy : xwe or wye - ゑ use F7 to get katakana versions MS IME* / Canna: wi - ゐ MS IME / Canna: we - ゑ Kotoeri / SKK: wyi - ゐ Kotoeri / SKK: wye - ゑ If that doesn't work then i don't know what will. :) |
