Starting Kanji...

Hi everyone!

Sorry if this has been posted before but I just need a little bit of help.

I'm about to start learning Kanji, but....I don't know where to start

What should I learn first when studying Kanji?
Are there any basic ways to start learning?
How should I learn it?

I'm a bit confused, your help will be very much appreciated!! :D

Arigatou gozaimasu!

Purchase Basic Kanji Book 1 (and 2) and start on in.

Read a book called Read Japanese Today by Len Walsh. In my opinion, it is the best way to start. It is short, around 150 pages, but you will learn a lot + it is enjoyable to read and will make you interested in kanji.

If you're poor and or lazy (not that there is anything wrong with either of the two) you can use this:

Genki Kanji

Don't expect to become a Kanji God from websites, however.

After getting some book, learn radicals (one stroke and two stroke for the first hand) and ask someone to assign Kanji for your name. these will help you much.

Maybe try your local library OP, they could have some good reference material for you to borrow. Good luck!

Pay attention to stroke order. At first you're going to think that's a dumb suggestion. You're going to ask "Why????"

Just do it. You'll thank us in two years. :)
