Could someone help me with my research
Hi friends,
I'm doing a paper that persuades the importance of having a nap for students. I'd like to know, and this is important, if students (primary and secondary schooling) in japan take naps at school. I'd really really appreciate any information. Thanks in advance. JI |
Children in Japanese elementary and secondary schools do not have naptime.

Thanks so much for your prompt answer. Wow, that's quick. But I wonder if you know about Korea. Do students have naptimes in Korea? Thanks in advance.

the only time I've ever heard of students taking naps (and not slacking off) anywhere would be in Kindergarten in America, and perhaps some European countries.

Some Japanese kindergartens and preschools have a nap time. Summer is considered an important time for napping, so summer classes (Optional classes offered during summer vacation) in kindergarten/preschool and elementary school also often offer a nap time - even if it is not part of the regular school schedule outside of summer.
It does seem to be fairly common for middle/high school students to take a short nap (half an hour or so) after getting home from school before doing whatever. It is strongly encouraged by the middle schools in this area as a way of refreshing yourself before you move on to doing homework and studying. |
