There is NO connection. There is no way to have a Japanese name translate into Kazuma Nakamura, just as there is no way to have a Japanese name translate into Brennan Portz.

LOL. Sashimister's attached photo and MMM's signature pic are really similar!

By the way, I am wondering how to transform English names into Katagana. Is it based on the pronunciation or the alphabets?

Because I found that my name has 2 different writings: バージニア or ヴァージニア... (I know the former one is normally used though)

To answer simply, it is based purely on pronunciation. Spelling makes no difference.

There is no V sound in Japanese naturally, but one has been "fashioned" in the second spelling. Most people would call you by the first spelling.
