It might help to realize a similarity between the two: Katakana and Hiragana. Both evolved from short hand of Chinese characters(Kanji) used for their sound only( minus meaning). This was done because Japanese grammar and Chinese grammar are a bit different.
Most Katakana and Hiragana look alike and even those that don't still have a connection. This might help you memories them better. ![]() ![]() |
