what is this kanji?
 

I cannot find this kanji on any dictionary I have. I suppose it means happy or glad...

(ATTENTION. Since I don't know how to read it I couldn't use IME. I know those are 2 kanji, but the one I need is formed by those 2).

Also, for future reference, if you go to Jim Breen's WWWJDIC, there is a kanji-input method called the multi-radical input method. You can select parts of a kanji and search for all kanji containing those parts.

Someone who used to post here (but I haven't seen him in a while) has actually designed a website where you can use your mouse to write a kanji and it will recognize it and give you the text version. Handwritten kanji search at sljfaq.org

Microsoft IME can do it too...but the "recognizing" part doesn't really work that well LOL.

The IME Pad, if you have that on your PC, works just as good.

If you have an iPhone/iPod, get Kotoba, kanji dictionary.
It's really useful tool !!!
Features indexation on radicals, shows all kanji grades in lists, gives full words and example sentences.

Online kanji dictionaries give me trouble, but when i go check them up in my iPod, i suddenly do find them :D

The Microsoft IME pad works just as well as my system, if not better, and it's faster, since you aren't sending your kanji input to Florida or Arizona and back. Also the IME pad is set up for input so you don't have to cut and paste anything.

This claims to have 65,000 characters, so it might be good for those "very hard to find" characters. The underlying recognition engine is the open-source "Tomoe" system (mine is based on Kanjipad, plus some extensions I created myself).

LOL trust me I know how to use my kanji dictionaries. On and off I have had and used that dictionary for 20 years :) The fact is that the kanji I was looking for is not in that dictionary.

Can you hear a strange high-pitched noise, like a squeal of language-nerd glee? That would be me. Like Kyle, I run on Mac, and I've sorely, sorely missed having Windows IME pad.

Which dictionary, sorry?
Is the kanji for "ureshii" not in your dictionary, or was it not ureshii after all? I'm sure the 嬉 (ureshii) kanji is in all Japanese kanji dictionaries.
