Please help!

Hi guys, I am hoping you can help me out! I have some work that is due today, and my tutor is sick and unable to correct it! I am hoping someone can help me? I would love you forever! It is a conversation between a dog and a cat :D

私たちの人もとのようにはいません。どうしたらいいで すか
Dog: Our Humans are gone again… What should we do?
わかりません。
Cat: I don’t know.
一人でとてくれます。
Dog: I can play fetch with myself!
すばらしいですね。何かいたらどうですか。
Cat: Wonderful. (sarcasm) Why don’t you go somewhere?
どこですか。
Dog: Where?
どこでもいいですよ。うるさすぎます。
Cat: Anywhere is good. You’re too loud.
官公吏洋子にしたらどうでしょうか。
Dog: Why don’t we go on a sightseeing trip?
カットーニップがあるとかんがえておきましょう。
Cat: If you have catnip, I’ll think about it…
日本に行きませんか。新幹線で乗りたいですよ。
Dog: Can we go to Japan? I want to ride the bullet train!
度して。あたまはうきでるな。
Cat: Why? You can’t stick your head out (the window).
そうですか。ざねんですね。とりあいず、きぷがありま せなてります。
Dog: Is that so? That’s too bad. I guess we don’t have tickets anyway.
何かに行くと、肉やまたは魚屋に行きましょうか。
Cat: If we go anywhere, we should go to the butcher shop or the fish market.
人は野党が閉めますか。竹の運転します。
Dog: Can we hire a human to drive us?
葉かなことを言うな。失し図化に。私たちの人はかえま す。ふっちのふるまりなさい。
Cat: That is a silly question… HUSH! Our humans have returned. Act natural.

What exactly are we supposed to be looking at? It looks to me like you just hit spacebar and picked the first kanji that came up. You have stuff in there about "opposition political party" and stuff like that. Did you translate from Japanese to English or what? You didn't even tell us what you're trying to do.

Atomicfoxx 02-04-2011 05:51 PM

well that was clearly a mistake... :( sometimes i end up selecting the wrong kanji when I don't want kanji at all. It is just supposed to be a simple conversation piece. I'm mostly just trying to make sure I got the grammar right? I'm sorry if it came out gibberish. Any help you can give me is appreciated. Hopefully the (supposed) translations into English help?

So you're going Japanese->English? If teh other way around, what level are you at?

Atomicfoxx 02-04-2011 06:32 PM

I'm going from English to Japanese.

This conversation needs serious work. It is nice that you are challenging yourself, but if you are getting this much wrong.. perhaps you are jumping ahead of your abilities too far? Slow down a bit. If you are in Japan listen twice the amount you speak, and you will learn when to use what phrases and how.

Anyhow, won't your teacher just correct it for you anyway? It is not like you will fail the class for this or anything right?

BTW sarcasm does not work well in Japanese.

Thanks so much to the awesome member who PM'd me and helped with corrections! I know the large number of spelling errors and typos was daunting, but I appreciate all that you did!

BTW: My teacher loved the sarcasm and said she had no trouble understanding it at all. (She is a native Japanese speaker)

She is a great teacher, I'm just a terrible student

A trully awesome member would certainly have done that in the thread so that many others could have shared this learning opportunity.

There had to be a reason for opting to use PM though I won't discuss it here.
