Particles

Once again, I am facing problems regarding particles. I don't understand the particles that were used in the following phrases.

1. 市内で運転する
drive in the city

2. 広い道を運転する
drive on a wide street

3. 夜間に運転する
drive at night

4. 普通のタイヤで雪道を運転する
drive in snow with normal tires

5. 渋滞のなかを運転する
drive in heavy traffic

If number 2, 4 and 5 particles are "を" then I don't see why number 1 particle should be "で". In fact, I don't understand why 2, 4 and 5 used "を" when "に" sounds more appropriate to me.

I would like to know if I can also alter the phrases into something like the following ones?

1. 市内に車を運転する
drive in the city

2. 広い道に車を運転する
drive on a wide street

3. 夜間に車を運転する
drive at night

4. 普通のタイヤで雪道に車を運転する
drive in snow with normal tires

5. 渋滞のなかに車を運転する
drive in heavy traffic

Or how about:

1. 市内で車を運転する
drive in the city

2. 広い道で車を運転する
drive on a wide street

3. 夜間に車を運転する
drive at night

4. 普通のタイヤで雪道で車を運転する
drive in snow with normal tires

5. 渋滞のなかで車を運転する
drive in heavy traffic

I write it the way my book describes it (but I admit that I forget this rule 100% of the times LOL).

The location over which a movement action takes place is marked by the particle を:

橋をわたる => cross a bridge
あの銀行をすぎる => pass that bank
この道をまっすぐ行く => Go straight in this street
三つ目の交差点を曲がる => Make a turn at the 3rd intersection

I might be completely wrong, but your example I would see it more the opposite:
車で市内を運転する

Thanks for the help, chryuop san. :)
