Japanese Film Titles

I've often noticed that when I find a Japanese film online that I want to watch the Japanese title rendered using Roman letters often just seems to be Japanese pronunciation of the English form. Is this usually the case, and if it is, why is it?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, do you have an example?

Here's a few that appear on the Virtual Japan site:

Audition = Odishon
Battle Royal = Batoru Rowairaru
Death Note = Desu Noto
The Ring = Ringu

That's Katakana Eigo (Words derived from English pronounced in the Japanese syllabary).

They actually are spelled:

バトルロワイアル - Battle Royale
リング - Ring

This isn't the case with all movie titles, but many do have titles like this.
I guess they write it like that because it sounds like a cool title.
