を[verb] vs に[verb]
 

Hi all, I was wondering what's the difference between these two sentences:

1. 警察は、弟を詰問した。

2. 警察は、弟に詰問した。

Both seem OK to me, but maybe 「を」would sound more natural...but I'm still not sure...let me check my dictionaries.

Strange(~_~)?...I found both usage in some of my dictionaries;

「人に」（…に詰問する）
「人を」（…人を厳しく詰問する）
「事を人に」（組合員は彼女の免職の理由を部長に詰問 した）

I googled and found;

「事を」（遅延の理由を詰問する）
「事を」（浮気を詰問する）
「人を」（容疑者を詰問する）
「人を」（首相を詰問した）

Hmm... if you start with 「組合員は彼女の免職の理由について…」, then I think it can be followed by either「部長に詰問した」or「部長を詰問した」（「事に� ��いて人を／人に詰問する」）. If you say 「組合員は彼女の免職の理由を…」, then I think it better be followed by「部長に詰問した」, avoiding using 「を」twice（「事を人に詰問する」）.
