Well in spanish you have to pronounce each vowel always. Do you hear each vowel in all these words or are some of them silent.

There are several systems of Japanese romanization. While the one from your book is not wrong, it's less common than the other two ways I see more often. Usually it stays 'ou', or else an accented ō is used. I hate romaji :P |
