Not a Newb not the master

So of course I'm here to ask about Japanese. :D
I want to know how to write numbers 1-1,000,000. Also how to pronounce them. Starting small so thats all for now.

1 - ichi
2 - (pronounced "ni" but not sure how it's spelt)
3 - san
4 - chi
5 - (pronounced "doe" but not sure how it's spelt)

curious_jane 06-02-2007 05:24 PM

300, 600 & 800 are slightly different

300 = Sambyaku
600 = Roppyaku
800 = Happyaku

400 = Yonhyaku (and not Shihyaku)
700 = Nanahyaku (and not Shichihyaku) [and same for 4000 & 7000]

3000 = Sanzen
8000 = Hassen

now I need
days of the week
seasons
Greetings
Misc
Anything that will expand my limited vocabulary.

Seiryuu 06-09-2007 11:00 PM

Add (曜日;ようび) to the end of these for days of the week:

月;げつ - Monday
火;か - Tuesday
水;すい - Wednesday
木;もく - Thursday
金;きん - Friday
土;ど - Saturday
日;にち - Sunday

Seasons:

春;はる - spring
夏;なつ - summer
秋;あき - autumn
冬;ふゆ - winter

That's all I'll do for now.

Ok I'm sorry I didn't specify. I wish to learn to speak japanese before learning to write it.
