trouble translating this phrase

So I have been confused about the phrase "pain is an illusion" for a while now. At first I thought it was "itami wa sakkakudesu" (痛みは錯覚です)...but now I'm pretty sure that's wrong. Can someone help me with this?

It depends on the situation. Is the talker of "pain is an illusion" the same person who is feeling the pain?

A probably all-too-literal translation from the English "Pain is an illusion" could be "痛みが幻です" itami ga maboroshi desu.

I mean all pain, everyone's pain. Not just the talker.

How about this ?

「痛みなんて気のせいだ!」
