Yea, I'm working with it. ^.^ I just heard that it's easier to learn words in romaji and then learn hiragana and katakana so that it's easier to translate over. O.o

And it seems so hard to actually put the sentences together and say them, but I can understand a lot of spoken Japanese perfectly. ;_;

Beginner or not, at least you're learning from a teacher! ^_^ And the only things I'm having trouble with is sentence construction. I know sentences that are already constructed like Watashi wa .... and you know all that, and like how to say my age and what the weathers like, but I can't construct my own sentences.

Like if I wanted to say, "It's so dark that I can't see." I wouldn't be able to do that....

Yea, I understand what you're saying. ^.^ But, in a sentence like that, where would what go? "It's so dark that I can't see." I know there's some special word for this type of sentence and I can't see would be Watashi mimasen.. or something like that... O.O theres probably a particle or something that goes between Watashi and mimasen...

But, would it's so dark be before i can't see? it would right? and how would you construct the rest of the sentence before it?

Miesen? But the plain form of to see is miru... and to make something negative don't you add masen? so wouldn't it be mimasen..? And doesn't the particle no signify some kind of possession? or maybe not? Because doesn't Watashi no neko. mean 'My cat.'..?

O.o ..(I keep asking questions... sorry ;_;, I'm quite curious though...)

That would be "Kurakute Miemasen" or "Kurai node miemasen".
Forget about using "watashi". I know they teach you to use it. But we Japanese omitt it 70-80% of the time because the listener will know who you are referring to.

What's the difference between 'kurakute miemasen' and 'kurai node miemasen'?

They both are coming from the "i" adjective "kurai" meaning "dark"

'kurakute miemasen' = literally The darkness is such so that I cannot see

'kurai node miemasen'= literally Because it is dark, I cannot see.

Totally interchangeble, though the second one may sound a little more formal with the use of "node" instead of the more familiar "kara".

"Kurai kara miemasen"

You mean on top of learning all the different conjugations for verbs there's also conjugations for adjectives? Or it kurakute a different word from kurai?

You have it right. Adjectives are conjugated too.

kurakute is a conjugation of kurai.

;_; I just started learning the conjugations for verbs and there's so many! Adjectives too though? I guess it's not as bad as if I were learning English as a Japanese person...
